Breaking and Entering

No, these are not the feet that plunged their way through the playroom ceiling. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the feet that committed the crime, but here is the face of the person they belong to.

If you are wondering why he looks dazed and confused, it is because he has no idea how to fix the new "entrance" into our home.

Lucky for him, our friend Brad is quite handy.

Maybe next time he will stay on the FLOORED portion of the attic while retrieving seasonal decorations for his loving wife.

Dear Person In Charge at Disney,

I am writing to thank you. Your efforts to convince my daughter that SHE is the ONE lucky fan who will get to go to Miley Cyrus' 16th birthday have been successful. She has been religiously listening to Radio Disney during our morning rides to school to hear the "code word" each day and every afternoon after school she logs on to disneychannel.com to register herself again for the Grand Prize Sweepstakes. Trust me, she's a loyal fan. So let's just end this right now-- please go ahead and send her a freakin' invitation. Don't let the fact that she's five and missing her two front teeth scare you. She's gifted in the areas of socialization and entertainment and has been known to party like a rock star. She will bring her little brother when she comes; consider it a 2-for-1, my gift to you. He's great at decorating hallways with bathtub crayons and toilet paper, so feel free to put him in charge of the finishing touches. Save your paper, an E-vite will suffice.

Sincerely,

A desperate mother on the verge...

Aren't I cute?!?! (check out the sticker)

Friday Night Lights

Up until this year Jonathan has had to coach football in addition to his head job as basketball coach-- that's life in a small town for ya! But now that he is coaching at a big school, WE have our Friday nights back to spend together, at least unitl basketball season starts! So, what did we do on our first available night? We went to the football game! But this time, for the first time in 6 years, we went as a family. Usually I am the crazy lady dragging 2 kids across the parking lot, up into the stands, and back down to the concession stand (at least twice) all by myself. But this time I had a helper! Good thing too, because Trevor did NOT want to sit and watch the game. Ashley was impressed by the size of the stadium (compared to the one in Melissa it looks like Texas Stadium) but she was bummed that she wasn't down on the field with the cheerleaders. She did that at almost every game in Melissa and Jonathan assured her that he would arrange it for basketball season. Since I wasn't blogging back then, here are some pictures from last year:

And here we are this year:

Dear Parents,

Before you drop your precious kindergartener off in my class, please make sure:
1. Your child is COMPLETELY potty trained.
2. Your child knows his/her name. I will teach them how to spell and write it if you haven't gotten around to it yet, but please make sure they at least know what their name is.
3. Your child knows that HE is a boy or that SHE is a girl. This is critical information and the curriculum I follow does not provide lessons on anatomy.
4. Your child will use a tissue, not their shirt, friend's shirt, or friend's long beautiful ponytail to wipe the snot from their nose.
5. Your child understands that it is SCHOOL you are dropping him/her off at each morning, not another planet. I will give reminders throughout the day, but I am not responsible for the child who, by 10:00am, still doesn't know where he is.

Sincerely,

Mrs. I-Love-Kindergarten Ellis

PS- Here are some quotes from our class this week.

"Her told me to lick it off the table."

"TEEECHERRRR! I need to tell you a question."

"Miss Deldis..."

"Him said underwear. Him needs a spank."

"I don't want to move my clip to yellow (from green, for misbehavior). Do you have a clip teacher?"
