We finally got to meet our newest "family" member this weekend and we are so excited! Kathryn Abigail White is precious and we already love her so much! Ashley is just happy to have another girl around (so am I~ I already took over some bows for her hair!) and Trevor is still talking about Baby Kate. Sara and Josh, she's beautiful and we are so happy for y'all!

We have been busy! And, because I know you have been waiting on pins and needles to read about all things concerning us, I will now give a proper update...(happy, Sara?)

Trevor will be 2 next Saturday so we celebrated early since Nonna and Aunt Biddie were coming to town for Easter. The weather was great so the kids hunted eggs outside in the backyard and we had a fabulous time honoring our little Tornado. He's even more tornadic now with new golf clubs and a sword. He's getting so big and is talking more and more each day-- he actually just came in to tattle on his sister!

The neighborhood bobcat (the one featured on the local news...the one who will not be removed by animal control or wildlife specialists unless he's injured or gets into your home...) did NOT scare away the Easter Bunny! Nor did the 500 mph gusts of wind, thunder, lightening, and torrential downpour of rain on this Easter Sunday. We were up and at 'em early this morning to hunt eggs and even made it to church-- not completely soaked but definitely a little soggy. We are very thankful this Easter for our Savior and all the ways He continues to take care of us...

We were able to find renters for our house in Melissa! They seem great (and they have jobs!) and I'm sure they won't forget to activate the utilities, change the air filters, keep the sprinkler system plugged in so it can actually do it's job, and PAY THE RENT!

I was offered a kindergarten teaching position at a brand new Frisco school very close to our house. I accepted, and even though this whole "force transfer" situation has been a bit crazy (that's what happens when your school is approved for few classes and you were one of the last ones hired), I am really excited and have a true peace about it. You know, like I'm going there for a reason. Ashley took the news really well--she was just glad we aren't moving houses or towns (me too!) and she's excited.

Sorry it's been so long~ I know you have missed us terribly and are dying to know what we've been up to recently. The truth is, not too much! Today is the last day of our Spring Break and although Jonathan and I have been busy dealing with a broken dryer, a dead car battery, and the eviction of the renters in our Melissa house, we have had a great week off of school! My mom and Aunt Biddie came up and we have shopped, lunched with friends, played at several parks and playgrounds, and even had a spa day! Here are some random pictures from the week, and a few from the week before when I was a single mom for four days while Jonathan was at the state tournament in Austin. Enjoy!

Seasons Change

Basketball season ended this week with a heartbreaking loss by one point at the buzzer. We are so proud of Jonathan and his team. Creekview had not been to a playoff game in 6 years, so leave it to Jonathan to turn things around in just his first year as a Mustang! We're sad that it's all over, but I am glad that Jonathan will be home to help me brave the tornado season that is apparently in full swing.

Weather experts usually name hurricanes so that they can track their paths of destruction, but tornados are left nameless-- until now. The tornado that hit our house is named Trevor and thank goodness he's cute. He is a whirlwind of energy and mischief, but is still super-duper sweet. He's very strong and already a great athlete (it hurts when the ball hits your face...), and he can have the cushions off the sofa in about 3 seconds. I've been sounding the warning alarm a lot lately and Ashley and the dog have gotten really good at the "duck and cover", and he's not even 2 yet...

We've been offering to let her get her ears pierced for a while, but she just now worked up enough nerve to actually go through with it. So, Nonna and Aunt Biddie came to town to witness the momentous occasion. Ashley was a champ~ she never even flinched and there were no tears at all! Now she's sportin' some serious bling!

Just let me vent...

Ok, so there are a few things in life that just baffle me and no matter how much I try to not over-analyze them, when it comes to other people's stupidity, I just can't help myself.

Yeterday, when it was ABOVE freezing and barely raining outside, I get a phone call from Trevor's day care center. They have decided to close at 9:30 in the morning. Serioulsy? Apparently they have some (hopefully now they are former) staff members who decided not to come to work because of the threat of the weather worsening. What? I guess that's what happens when you employ people who would gladly forgo their hourly wages in such a prosperous economic time. Anyway... So I went to pick up Trevor who, thanks to the generosity of my principal, spent the rest of the day with me in kindergarten. We made it through with one diaper, milk from the cafeteria, and some marshmallows leftover from Snowman Soup in December, and no nap. We were not alone-- there are 5 other teachers at my school who had to do the same thing. With the money the day care center saved yesterday not having to pay their employees, they should eagerly credit my account with the daily rate of Trevor's tuition. Should I hold my breath?

Church And Other Important Things

Finding a church is like dating. Seriously. Jonathan and I have been in a "relationship" with a few churches in our married life. Each time we really like the church, attend regularly, all is great. Then, each time we move and although the relationship is going really well, we can't committ to anything long distance. So, we start over, find a new church to "date" and the cycle repeats. We tried to "get back together" with the church we attended when we lived in Frisco the 1st time, but it's just not the same as it was before-- it's a lot bigger now and has even added shuttle bus service. Too much hooplah for us. So, we have been "seeing" another church and hopefully things will progress the way we want them to! Please say a prayer that this church will be "the one"~ we need some stability, especially since there are children involved! Hope no one is offended by my analogies or my ridiculous use of quotation marks...

In other news:

My children have been having Wiiiiiii too much fun these days! Ashley loves her some Super Mario and Trevor begs to play "bo-ball" (bowling).




Ashley was named QUEEN of her class this past week. As my dad said, I guess they just had to make it official...


Jonathan's team is now 6-1 in district play which puts them in first place! Now that's something to cheer about!
